Three of our Para National Team Players are competing in Europe at the Slovenia Open and the Slovakia Open. With them is Para National Team Coach John Macpherson. Over the next 2 weeks they will face the best players in the Para World. We asked them about their expectations for the tournament in Slovenia is.
Barry: “The best players of the planet are here and I will give me best against all of them.”
Stephanie: “Playing good, getting some good practice to be ready for Rio.”
John: “As Barry said, we have the best players in the Para World competing here at the tournament. For Stephanie it will be a good test to see how she plays against the Athletes who she will face at the Paralympics later this year. All in all it will be a great tournament and with Barry here, they have a great mentor.”
Steven: “Watch the best players in the world and adapt my training to get home. It will be a great experience.”
We also asked the question, “What will John’s hair look like after the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio?”, what referred to the fact that he will shave his head if Stephanie wins a medal.
Barry: “Extremely short as Stephanie will win a medal and Steven Dunn will shave his head.”
Steven: “It will be a lot more grey and shorter. But definitely a lot more grey.”
