Canadian Men's Team Starts Warm Up Matches For London Canada - Korea 7-5

On their way to the US Open, a Korean professional team stopped in Mississauga for a warm-up friendly match against the Canadian Men's Team. Canada received some help from Filip Szymanski (POL) who has been sparring with the Canadians in their preparation for the Olympic Games in London.

Canada's #1 Eugene Zhen Wang coming off a win at the Florida Open on the weekend scored two hard fought points against the top two players on the Korean team, Ko Joon Hyung and Kim Sang Soo. Pierre-Luc Hinse ended a good night with a 1-1 record showing that he is recovering from an injury that has bothered him for the last month.

Filip Szymanski, a Polish professional, plying his trade in the German Bundesliga has spent the last ten days with the Canadian team at the National Training Center in Ottawa; as a welcome addition to the Canadian team he added two points to the Canadian score. Pierre-Luc Theriault, in an excellent come-back against Park Kwang Bin) and Andre Ho (default) added the remaining two points to give the Canadians a 7-5 win.

The next stop for both teams is the US Open in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
