2013 ITTF North America Cup

21/04/2013 - Andre Ho, from Richmond, BC, won his first ITTF Men's North America Cup. The final saw the second seed Ho defeat third seed Timothy Wang, United States' top player in the event, in a thrilling 6 game match.

The top Canadian in the women's event was Anqi Luo who finished 5th.

New Ontario Men's Champion, Women's Champion Defends her Title

24/03/2013 - The 2013 Ontario Championship, played at My Table Tennis Club (Mississauga) over the weekend, saw Anqi Luo defeat Sara Yuen 4-1 to repeat as Ontario Women's Champion. Veaceslav Cravcenko upset proceedings by defeating no. 1 seed James Pintea 4-0 in the Semi-finals and Zexuan Wang 4-1 in the Final to win the Ontario Men's Championship.

TTCAN Launches New Canadian Championships Structure

18/03/2013 - At the 2012 Annual meeting of the Member's Council, held in Ottawa, a new structure for the Canadian Championships was adopted. In lieu of the Cadet 13 and Cadet 11 age categories that were formerly included in the Junior Championships, a HOPES WEEK will also be introduced with two events organized - one in the West and one in the East.

07/03/2013 - The 2013 JOOLA Canada Series Finals are being held March 1-3, 2013 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, right outside Toronto at the My Table Tennis Club. The Canada Series Final replaces the National Team Challenge and serve as the primary vehicle to select Canadian Teams for international competitions.

Road to Nanjing 2014 Goes Through Vancouver

07/03/2013 - The International Table Tennis Federation has confirmed that the "Road To Nanjing" includes a stop in North Vancouver. As part of the qualification system, the 2013 Canadian Junior Open was included in a series of Global Junior Circuit competitions in which players will gather points to secure a spot for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Luo On the Podium in Sweden

24/02/2013 - 16 year-old Anqi Luo of Mississauga, ON celebrated her first podium result in an international Women's Singles competition at the BTK Safir Open in Örebro, Sweden.

The young Canadian had a difficult draw but landed a series of upsets to claim Bronze.Starting her run, Luo defeated Swedish defender Carine Gamborg by a score of 3-1.

The ITTF Women's Working Group invites all clubs or associations to organize a Friendship Trophy event, workshop, or competition on or around March 8th to celebrate the contribution and promotion of women and girls in Table Tennis. Wang On the Podium At Swiss Open

11/02/2013 - Returning to competition from a four-week training camp in Hebei Province in China, Eugene Wang was primed for competition when he entered the Swiss Open. Three World Championship and Olympic medallists- Dimitri Ovtcharov (GER), Vladimir Samsonov (BLR), Jo Saehyuk (KOR) and rising French star Adrien Mattenet were on hand in Lausanne.

Hongtao Chen Takes Bronze at ITTF Junior Circuit Finals

28/01/2013 - Hongtao Chen, Canada's top Junior player, qualified to the Global Junior Circuit Final in 8th position which took place in Guatemala City. Chen cruised through his round robin competition. He then defeated Hung (HKG) 4-2 before succuming to Morizono (JPN) in the semi-finals.

On the girls side, Anqi Luo of Ontario finished 13th.
