North American Hopes Challenge to Kick off on May 31st, 2018!
The top Hopes (U12) table tennis players of the US and Canada will meet to see who will qualify for the ITTF World Hopes Challenge later this year in Spain.
The US has been dominant at this age category and it will be interesting to see if Canada will be competitive in this year’s Hopes meet.
The tournament will be played over three days in two phases.
Phase 1:
The seeding will be done by ranking, alternating US and Canadian players, e.g., US1, CAN 1, US2, CAN2, …
Two stages of Round Robins will determine the Phase 1 standings.
In the 2nd phase, players will be seeded according to their ranking in the Phase 1 tournament.
The tournament is designed to offer ample match play and a first test for these young players.
Play starts on Thursday, May 31 at 13:30 at the PANAM Centre in Markham, Ontario.
