ITTF - New rule for advice during matches in effect from 1st October 2016

October 2nd, 2016, the ITTF sent out a note in regards to the effect of the new rule for advice during the matches.
3.5.1.3
Players may receive advice at any time except during rallies provided play is not thereby delayed (3.4.4.1); if any authorised person gives advice illegally the umpire shall hold up a yellow card to warn him or her that any further such offence will result in his or her dismissal from the playing area.

Please make note that –according to the ITTF Board of Directors decision– the new rule on advice to players is in effect as of 1st October 2016 at the ITTF events, starting with the Liebherr Men’s World Cup 2016 in Saarbrucken, Germany.
