The Calgary United Sport Table Tennis Association hosted the 2016 Western Hopes Week.
Coach Duan, Li and Geng worked together to prepare the 36 Athletes prior to the tournament, to give all the kids the best chances for the event. The Athletes from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan competed in the event to guarantee a spot at the 2017 Canada Hopes Challenge.
Based on Table Tennis Canada's Long Term Athlete Development Model, the Hopes week is part of a worldwide Hopes movement that aims to provide skills development activities for very young players as well as an educational component for their coaches.
