Briant Won, Ontario has completed the multi step program to become a National Referee in Table Tennis. Briant is the newest and youngest, fully certified National Referee in Canada.
His career along this path began a few years ago as he organized local tournament in the Province of Ontario. His residence in Ottawa provided him with close contact with members of the National office who saw great promise with Briant. Norman Tang became his mentor and provided him with the guidance and opportunity to develop his skills both technical and inter-personal.
After passing the National Referee exam, Briant was ready for the two practicals and was assigned as Deputy Referee at the Canada Series final (2013) followed by the Canadian Junior and Cadet Open in Toronto (2015). He was successful at both events and met all expectations.
National Referees are an elite group of officials that are deemed the best in our sport. Congratulations Briant Won of Ontario.
