Zagreb, Croatia - May 21, 2015. At the Zagreb Open, an ITTF World Tour event, Canada’s Eugene Wang (Ottawa, ON) passed an important test against Brazil’s Tiago Monteiro. The Brazilian has been playing at the top of his form with a recent Quarter Finals finish in Men’s Doubles at the 2015 QOROS World Table Tennis Championships. In a close match, Wang took the match by a score of 4-2 (6-11,13-11,8-11,11-8,8-11,10-12). Monteiro is among the players Brazil may select for the 2015 PANAM Games - a rematch may be in the offing in Toronto in July.
In the round of 32, Wang left no chance to Frenchman Benjamin Brossier and scored a 4-0 victory.
For the Quarter Finals, the Canadian will face Eonrae Cho (KOR)
