September 6, 2013 - During a reception for the athletes, coaches and
chaperones the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, Mrs. Marie
Malavoy, unveiled the names of the flag bearers for Team Quebec during
the opening of the seventh edition of the Games of La Francophonie,
which will take place Saturday, September 7 at Place Messéna at 19: 30
pm (local time. It will be the choreographer Catherine Gaudet and table
tennis athlete Pierre-Luc Theriault.
For
his part, Pierre-Luc Theriault is vice-champion in doubles and singles
bronze medalist at 2013 Canadian Championships. Pierre-Luc participated
in several international competitions, including the Spanish Open in
2012 where he reached the fourth round at the U21. He won the North
American Championships in 2012 in Singles and has participated in four
world championships; he is a member of the senior national team since
2010.
"It is an honor for me to have this
privilege. I was surprised, but when they told me, I never thought of
refusing, said Theriault. It gives me a little extra pressure, but I'll
do the best I can to perform at my best."

allows you to meet athletes from different sports, in addition to the
artists to the cultural part of these Games," said Pierre-Luc Theriault.
