Aside from a very strong win by Hongtao Chen over 2011 Canadian Champion Pierre-Luc Hinse in the semi-finals (11-6,11-7,11-7,11-8), there were no unexpected results in the men's singles. Eugene Zhen Wang mastered the field, losing only a single game to Xavier Therien and one to Pierre-Luc Theriault.
