Administrator of the Year - Betty Tweedy Award

For the Betty Tweedy Award recognizing the 2014 Volunteer Administrator of the Year, the nominees are Peter Vuong and Joe Fisher. They have been appropriately named as the finalists for our national awards. We salute them for their efforts and all their contributions in 2014.

Under Peter Vuong’s leadership, the ATTA staged a well-organized 2012 Western Canada Open, inspiring a successful bid for the 2014 Canadian Table Tennis Championships in Edmonton. This event was a great success incorporating new and exciting presentation elements.  ATTA then went on to host the West Hopes Week in Calgary.  ATTA has moved forwards with significant membership growth and expanded operations to accommodate the increased interests of the public.

Joe Fisher is indispensible to the Nova Scotia Table Tennis Association handling financials, membership, tournament registration and funding applications. In 2014 he secured a grant of $5000 towards a partnership with the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation. Joe also mentored the organizers of four regional tournaments and the Nova Scotia Provincial Championships. Joe sits on the Board of Directors for TTCAN and is quite active in that role.
