At the tournament in Mississauga, Canada, Andreas Levenko from Austria and Lisa Lung from Belgium are the winners of the 2014 Road to Nanjing Series – North America. Canada’s Anqi Luo ended up first in her group before being defeated by Leila Imre from Hungary. Alexander Moran ended up third in his group and did not make it into the main draw.
JOOLA North American Hopes Challenge
The winner of the Joola Hopes North American Challenge will be going to Slovenia to compete at the ITTF World Hopes Challenge. While in the all Canadian final on the boys side, Alexander Bu took the first place vs.Edward Ly. On the girls side we had a full American final where Amy Wang won against Tia Hsieh with 3-1.
The tournament was a mix of 4 Canadian Qualifiers and 3 Americans to make up the Winner of the Joola North American Hopes Challenge 2014.
Youth Olympic Games – North American Qualification
With only places available for one boy and one girl at the North American Qualifcations for the Youth Olympic Games, Krishnateja Avvari of the United States and Canada’s Anqi Luo made their dream come true.
Anqi Luo only faced her opponents from Canada and winning against Cherry Zheng, Michelle Liaw and Betty Guo.
Krishnateja Avvari accounted for Canada’s Filip Ilijevski (7-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-6, 11-5), before overcoming Canada’s Klement Young (11-7, 12-10, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8) to reserve his place at the forthcoming Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

2014 Butterfly Canadian Junior and Cadet Open
The Canadian Junior Open is now etched in the historical annals of table tennis history. Seven countries sent their best male and female players to compete in this prestigious event. The players from the United States dominated in all 4 events. They came, they saw and they conquered all the competitors that they faced. Canada had three players who reached the semi-finals in their respective categories. B18 - Filip Ilijevski, G18 - Anqi Luo and finally B15 - Jeremy Hazin. They all lost. In the fours events, 13 American players reached the semi finals while only 3 Canadians.
