Andre Ho, from Richmond, BC, won his first ITTF Men's North America Cup. The final saw the second seed Ho defeat third seed Timothy Wang, United States' top player in the event, in a thrilling 6 game match.
Wang won the tight opening game 11-9. Ho countered by winning the second game 11-8. The see-saw battle continued the next two games with Wang winning the third and Ho winning the fourth game. However, momentum started to shift in Ho's favour and with a quick start in the fifth game, Ho won it handily 11-3. Wang tried to extend the match to the final game, but Ho remained confident and won the sixth game 11-7.
Ho will now represent Canada at the LIEBHERR Men’s World Cup as North America's continental representative. The LIEBHERR Men's World Cup will be held in Verviers, Belgium from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th October 2013.
Quick Notes: Last year's Men's Champion Pierre-Luc Theriault bested teammate Xavier Therien to finished fifth, James Pintea finished in eighth.
